Tonic

It was a busy Friday lunch time when we arrived at Tonic but luckily we found a sunny window seat. Tonic is known for its HUGE burger menu, over 50 types (which does include an awful lot of meat), but with a good few vegan choices as well as the possibility of veganising the other options.

It's sort of a 'build your burger' situation where you can select your bun, burger type, patty and fries. I went for the Herbimore with the house patty which was quite a classic vegetable burger topped with (a very good) vegan mozzarella, sun-dried tomato, pesto, spinach and basil. It was delicious - the best way of describing the flavour combination would be like a pizza burger! Our window seat did get blindingly sunny and we ended up moving to a different table but it was a lovely central spot to watch people go by. Tonic is also known for its cocktails and is open until midnight, this does mean under 18s aren't allowed so not suitable for little vegans.
