Starbucks

After a couple of weeks, we were long overdue a catch up and the chance to review somewhere together again.  After a quick play with my little vegan at the Overgate play area, we headed up to Starbucks for a coffee and some cake.

It was a little a wet and a little chilly day so I opted for a soya hot chocolate, there was coconut, almond and oat milks available but all at 40p more ! Jilly went for an oat milk latte which gave her lots of energy to play with my wee one.  We decided to share two (small) cakes between us; a Dark Chocolate and Hazelnut Bar and the Vegan Chocolate and Raspberry Cake.

It was super busy but we managed to grab a seat and there was a high chair which was great.  We tucked into our sweet treats and were surprised at how tasty the bar was as it was much sweeter than we thought- it looked more like a healthy option but was actually a chocolatey Rice Krispie type cake.  The Chocolate and Raspberry Cake was a little on the small side but also tasty.

It was great to be able to grab a couple of cakes at a chain coffee shop, however, both cakes were quite small for the price and for two drinks and two cakes it cost over £10.  It’s great to see so many dairy free milk options on the menu. It was also good to see a vegan sandwich option too. We are excited to see more vegan friendly options at Starbucks soon.
